Animal Welfare and Safety Policy

The health, comfort, and safety of animals are our top priorities at My Animal Transport. Every driver and shipper who uses our platform is expected to uphold this standard. This policy outlines the minimum requirements and responsibilities to ensure all animals are transported with care.

1. General Care Standards

  • Animals must always be treated with patience, respect, and kindness.
  • Drivers may not use force, intimidation, or harmful restraints of any kind.
  • All animals must be transported in a manner that minimizes stress and ensures their well-being.

2. Secure Transport Requirements

  • Animals must never travel loose in a vehicle. They must be secured in an appropriate crate, carrier, or harness.
  • Crates and carriers must be clean, ventilated, and large enough for the animal to stand, turn around, and lie down comfortably.
  • Transporters must carry a leash and collar/harness for each animal being transported.

3. Temperature and Environment

  • Drivers must ensure that heating and air conditioning are working properly.
  • Animals must not be left unattended in vehicles under any circumstances.
  • Transport must be delayed or rescheduled in cases of extreme weather if conditions cannot be kept safe.

4. Breaks, Food, and Water

  • Dogs must be given opportunities to stretch and relieve themselves at least every 2–3 hours during long trips.
  • Water must be available at all times using spill-proof containers.
  • Food should only be given as directed by the shipper to prevent stomach upset.

5. Illness or Emergency During Transport

  • If an animal becomes sick, injured, or distressed during transport, the driver must notify the shipper immediately.
  • Drivers must seek veterinary attention if directed by the shipper or if the animal's health is in immediate danger.
  • Drivers must carry the contact information for the shipper and the animal's veterinarian when provided.

6. Prohibited Conduct

  • The following behaviors will result in immediate suspension or permanent removal from My Animal Transport:
  • Mistreating, neglecting, or abusing an animal.
  • Transporting animals in unsafe or unsanitary conditions.
  • Failing to provide water, breaks, or appropriate rest periods.
  • Leaving animals unattended in a vehicle.

7. Shipper Responsibilities

  • Shippers must provide accurate health and behavior information about their animal(s).
  • Shippers must supply necessary items such as food, water, medication, and health records.
  • Shippers must disclose any special handling needs before transport begins.

8. Enforcement

  • Violations of this policy may result in:
  • Warnings or required retraining.
  • Temporary account suspension.
  • Permanent account removal for serious or repeated infractions.
